DescriptionJob Summary: Digital Field Engineer to 37K + Car +OT + Call out allowance

The Digital Field Engineer (DFE) provides functions associated with the installation, modification and ongoing service to a range of company equipment and third party equipment in accordance with Field Procedures. On occasion, they will also provide on-site training to customers on operating and maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities:


Reports to the GCCO Team Coordinator with strong technical link to the DCS/DO & Country Product Specialists to form a key link in the escalation chain.


Provides service support and guidance to customers on company OEM install base. Builds strong, professional customer relationships.


Delivers precise and punctual reporting of paperwork to the company and OEMs.


Provides Problem Management to ensure the thorough resolution of Customer issues. Follows logical troubleshooting steps, in accordance with approved service procedures, through to problem resolution.


Demonstrates commitment to customer delight and exceeding customer’s expectations.


Monitors and drives equipment performance. Highlights problem equipment and develops action plan in conjunction with local and national specialists.


Works with Sales and Service Sales Specialists to keep up to date with new developments.


Accurately maintains and monitors parts inventory in line with current directives.


Ensures Service call activities are maximised in conjunction with cost control (return visits, same day fix, call duration).


Takes responsibility for communicating effectively with the customer on service call progress.



Undertakes or identifies projects that have a positive impact on the business.


May be required to participate in Customer out-of-hours support through remote or on-site support.


Is willing to travel/stay overnight to meet business need both in UK & abroad.



Skills Required:


In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital x-ray equipment.

Installation of PC hardware and associated software.

Windows NT/Windows2000/XP. “All Microsoft Windows platforms”.

Networking/platform protocols.”IT Network infrastructure”.

Understanding of DICOM.

MCP-Microsoft Qualified or industry equivalent i.e.: A-plus/Nplus.

Educated to HND or degree level desirable.

Professional and knowledgeable approach to solving customer problems.

Able to converse with all levels of customers (specifically IT staff) and liaise effectively with support functions.

Committed to providing a high level of technical support and ownership of problems to external and internal customers.

Able to produce precise reports as necessary.

Potential to develop to Regional Specialist/recognised as an “expert”.
